Happy Birthday MOE: Two looks good on you!


Two years... where has the time gone?! It was just yesterday (well, two years ago yesterday) that we completed our first event as a baby company. An incredible 40th birthday party. There was live music, there was a big fire roasting, there was BBQ and best of all, there were 40 Thai wish lanterns released into the night air. We happened to make the social section of the paper the next day and thus introduced this little company that could into the world!

Two years and about 40 events later... here we are! Gosh, 40 events. Tears well up in my eyes thinking of how thankful I am to my incredible clients. We've thrown tented backyard weddings, we've hosted families from across the Atlantic for multi-cultural weddings, we've celebrated first, second, fifth, twenty-first and fortieth birthdays together. We've celebrated baby girls and baby boys on the way.

All the while I've been the chalk artist, the florist, the baker, the charcuterie maker. I've been the list keeper, the vendor checker, table mover, set upper and break downer. I've done set ups 37-weeks pregnant, I've torn down in the soaking rain, I've been on my last wind hanging flowers from chandeliers. I've done it with 52 weeks notice and with 8 days notice. And you know what, I am SO ready for year 3! I LOVE this crazy life and this crazy job. I always tell people in order to plan and execute events for a living you have to be a rare hybrid of Type-A organized and the creative free spirit with an imagination. My brain ping pongs those two things on a constant basis every day and allows me to have this crazy fun, crazy hard job.

I was just telling Aubrey Jones (owner of Aubrey Marie Photography, a crazy talented photographer and awesome friend) that I was so immensely thankful for my clients each year and that they feel like God's provision to me. At the beginning of this business I could trust two things: my ability to do this job well and HIM. I knew there would be times that I didn't have events on the books when I needed to, I knew that I would stumble around the thought of building and maintaining a website and all social platforms all while making sure my clients felt engaged and taken care of and add to that gaining her clientele. He has provided exactly what I needed, when I needed it. To my dear clients and friend, thank you for being a part of his plan for me. Thank you for your referrals, thank you for your business, thank you for your friendship!

Fall is the new summer as far as my weddings are concerned so I am busy helping my girls and their families create amazing memories, but I did want to take a second to thank you all and to celebrate with you. Here are some of my favorite snaps from year 2...
